Honors Band

The Honors Band is the varsity band, comprised of second and third year band members.

 

Membership is determined by audition, academic eligibility history and overall work ethic and performance history.

 

The Honors Band performs at least four concerts throughout the year, and participates in UIL Concert and Sightreading in the Spring, as well as additional Festival performances. Additional performances may include school pep rallies and other opportunities where all AMS bands are performing. Members in the Honors Band are expected to work diligently. They are required to participate in the IHB Audition process and the All-Region Audition process in the Fall. Honors Band members are also required to attend weekly sectionals and participate in Solo and Ensemble Contest. In addition, they are strongly encouraged to participate in private lessons.
